MAURITIUS IMPROVES ITS RANKING IN THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL CENTRES INDEX 33

The Global Financial Centre Index (GFCI) released its 33rd edition recently, measuring and assessing the competitiveness and rankings of financial centres across the world, and thus serves as a valuable reference for policy and investment decision-makers.

130 financial centres were researched for GFCI 33 of which 120 are in the main index. The GFCI is compiled using 153 instrumental factors. These quantitative measures are provided by third parties including the World Bank, the Economist Intelligence Unit, the OECD and the United Nations.

Mauritius has improved its position, by 11 places, reaching 81st in the ranking from 92nd.
