Public Private joint Committee sees confidence renewed for private businesses

The 1st meeting of the Public-Private Joint Committee was held on Friday 22 October 2021 at the Hennessy Park Hotel, Ebene under the Chairmanship of Dr. the Hon. Renganaden Padayachy, Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development.

Business leaders, industry captains, representatives of industry associations, operators of the private sector as well as officials of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development and the Economic Development Board (EDB) participated in the event.

The interactive session which is an initiative of the EDB in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development is in line with the Government’s objective to foster continued and open dialogue between the public and private sectors with a view to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic and pave the way for a more prosperous economy.

The objective of the Public-Private Joint Committee is to provide an effective and collaborative platform in view of addressing the challenges and tapping into new opportunities.
